India will use terror proxies to attack CPEC projects in Punjab: Intel Report

LAHORE – While New Delhi’s propaganda after Uri attack has completely failed, India is preparing to use several proxies to target China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects in Punjab, the intelligence officials have warned the concerned departments.

According to The Nation, the intelligence reports said that al-Qaeda (Ilyas Kashmiri Group), Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (Tariq Geedar Group) and Lashkar-e-Jhangvi could launch direct attacks on CPEC projects or on those working on the projects.

The groups are sponsored by Indian intelligence agency RAW, Afghan intelligence service NDS, from Kandahar, Spin Boldak, Nangarhar, Kunar, Paktia, Paktika, Nooristan and Helmand, the report added.

Meanwhile, the joint meeting of provincial, divisional and district intelligence committees have also been summoned to review security arrangements for protection of foreigners, especially CHinese citizens working on CPEC projects.

The report also advised the top security officials to ensure befitting protection for all VVIP and VIP movements. The Standard Operational Procedures (SOPs) must be followed by the law enforcement agencies.
