CM Shahbaz chairs apex committee meeting in Lahore

LAHORE (Staff Report) – Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Friday chaired a three-hour-long meeting of provincial apex committee to review progress on National Action Plan (NAP).

During the meeting the chief minister was briefed about the detail of steps being taken for elimination of terrorism, extremism and sectarianism in Punjab.

Speaking on the occasion, Shahbaz Sharif said that provincial government is taking taking step to curb militancy and extremist mindsets. Both civilian and military leadership are on the same page in fight against terrorism, he added.

Paying rich tribute to the deceased former Home Minister Col. Retd. Shuja Khanzada Shaheed, he said that Khanzada is a sign of national pride and his contributions for elimination of terrorism will always be remembered.

Special prayers were also offered for female pilot Mariam Mukhtar, who embraced martyrdom in plane crash this week,  and others martyrs during the meeting.

Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) Jahangeer Khanzada, son of Col. Retd. Shuja Khanzada, also attended the meeting.
