LAHORE- For months, domestic abuse allegations against actor Mohsin Abbas Haider by Fatima Sohail have dominated the headlines and now the case has reached its legal conclusion.
Actor Mohsin Abbas Haider and his wife Fatima Sohail officially parted ways on Thursday after the Lahore family court accepted Sohail’s plea for khula. Sohail had claimed that Abbass assaulted her on multiple occasions and was having an extramarital affair.
Both Fatima Sohail and Mohsin Abbas appeared in court with their legal representatives. Fatima Sohail stated before Judge Babar Nadeem that she could no longer remain with her husband due to irreconcilable differences.
On the other hand, Mohsin Abbas testified, “I, too, no longer wish to remain with Fatima Sohail. We have no reservations; the court should issue the decree.”
Haider was found guilty of threatening his wife. A Lahore sessions court issued the verdict in a domestic violence and fraud case on August 28.
Earlier in July, Fatima had taken to social media to allege that she had suffered domestic abuse at the hands of her husband. Mohsin Abbas, on the contrary, denied all allegations of abuse.
