ISLAMABAD – The 2nd meeting of the 9th National Finance Commission (NFC) was held in Islamabad today with the Finance Minister Ishaq Dar in the chair.
The meeting unanimously approved the Biannual Implementation Monitoring Report of the 7th NFC Award.
The Commission received presentations from the four Working Groups and prepared recommendations for the 9th NFC Award.
The Commission also agreed to meet during the third week of next month for the next round of consultations.
After the meeting, the Finance Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar while talking to news persons reiterated the government’s resolve to announce a unanimous and equitable 9th NFC award soon.
The Minister said there is also a proposal under consideration to establish National Security Fund in which three per cent revenues would be pooled in the fund for war against terrorism.
He said Federal government has also taken steps for increasing revenues for the benefit of the country.
