UN Security Council condemns Lahore blast

NEW YORK (Staff Report) – The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) has strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Lahore that kiled 74 people including women and children.

The council members extended their deepest sympathy and condolences to the families of victims and to the people and government of Pakistan.

They underlined the need to bring perpetrators, organizers, financiers and sponsors of these reprehensible acts of terrorism to justice.

The members reaffirmed that terrorism in all its forms and manifestations constitutes one of the most serious threat to international peace and security.

They also stressed the need to take measures to prevent and suppress the financing of terrorism, terrorist organizations and individual terrorists in accordance with UN resolutions.
