NEW DELHI – A group of Hindu extremists in India are celebrating the massive blaze at Notre Dame Cathedral as ‘karma’ while claiming that the Cathedral in Paris was built on a Hindu temple.
The shocking revelations came after a Hindu hardliner, who goes by the name of Āsurā Wang Weilin on Twitter, claimed that the current location of the Notre Dame Cathedral was occupied by a pagan Roman temple, dedicated to Brihaspati or Jupitar, adding that the ‘believers’ destroyed the pagan temple, replacing it with the Christian cathedral in the year 1160.

In Hindu religion and philosophy, the universal causal law by which good or bad actions determine the future modes of an individual’s existence. Its universal principle of cause and effect, action and reaction, which Hindus believe governs all consciousness.
Earlier this week, the centuries-old Cathedral in France went up in flames, leaving the Parisian landmark in shambles. Footages available on social media captured the moments, flames burst through the roof of the Cathedral and quickly engulfed the spire, which collapsed as firefighting efforts were underway.

It is to mention here that on December 6, 1992, hundreds of radical Hindus justified the demolition of Babri Mosque in India, by claiming that the mosque was the birthplace of one of their most revered deities, Lord Ram, and that it was built after the destruction of a Hindu temple by a Muslim invader in the 16th Century.
The razing of the mosque led to religious riots across India that left at least 2,000 people dead. The case has been languishing in India’s legal system for almost 25 years.
