ISLAMABAD – Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) is planning to hold its third international moot to sensitize the masses for providing optimum care and education to the country’s children at an early age.
The university organized the event in collaboration with Pakistan Alliance for Early Childhood, Rupani Foundation, Ministry of Planning and Development and the Karakoram International University, a press release issued here Monday said.
The conference titled ‘The promise of Early Child Development-Investing in the Early Years’ would be including an exhibition of workable Early Child Development (ECD) Models focusing on the multi-sector approach to promote holistic ECD from conception to 8 years in the country.
The conference was expected bring together over 500 participants, including legislators, policymakers, experts from health, nutrition, child protection, education and social welfare, ECD experts from national and international level, practitioners, researchers, donors, academicians and parent representatives to deliberate on draft policies and legislation to evolve an integrated and holistic approach.
The proposed event would provide a forum to Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) stakeholders for sharing experiences, researches, developments and innovations in the field of early childhood care, development and education.
According to the Faculty of Education, the conference would envisage for re-conceptualizing the concept of ECCE keeping in view the current practices, challenges and trends at the national and global level.
It also aimed at appraising the latest trends and address challenges in ECCE.
