LAHORE- A Lahore sessions court recorded on Saturday the statement of a witness, who was present at the rehearsal where singer Meesha Shafi alleged harassment, in the Meesha Shafi-Ali Zafar defamation case.
While Shafi’s appeal to not record the witnesses’ statements was rejected by the court, Munir was able to present her testimony under oath. She said that there were 10-11 people present at the jam session where Meesha cordially hugged Ali.
She further stated that Shafi left after saying bye and claimed that her allegations of harassment were false.
Last week, another witness from Zafar’s counsel, Baqir Abbas, had recorded his statement stating the same.
In April 2018, Shafi took to Twitter to accuse Zafar of physically harassing her on ‘more than one occasion.’
Recently, Shafi’s legal team sent Zafar a defamation notice demanding a public apology and Rs2 billion in damages.
