RAWALPINDI – The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 match between Pakistan and Bangladesh in Group A was called off due to persistent rain in Rawalpindi.
Both sides were hoping to end their campaigns with a win, but instead they both receive one point apiece.
The toss was scheduled for 1:30pm toss however it faced repeated delays before the match was officially abandoned.
Hosts Pakistan have endured a Champions Trophy 2025 to forget at home, after falling short in the tournament opener in Karachi against New Zealand by 60 runs and then losing out to India by six wickets in Dubai that virtually knocked them out of the race for the semi-finals.
Bangladesh, meanwhile, lost their first game to India as they chased down the target with six wickets to spare, following which the Black Caps prevailed over them by five wickets, confirming India and New Zealand’s place in the last four.
Islamabad and Rawalpindi experienced significant rainfall, which led to the cancellation of the previous match between South Africa and Australia.
