SHARJAH – Afghanistan defeated Pakistan by 18 runs, securing their second consecutive victory in the tri-nation T20I series in Sharjah.
Chasing a target of 170 runs, the Pakistan team managed to score 151 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs. Haris Rauf was the top scorer for Pakistan with 34 runs.
Earlier, in the fourth match played in Sharjah, Afghanistan won the toss and elected to bat first. Batting first, they scored 169 runs for 5 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
For Afghanistan, Ibrahim Zadran scored 65 runs and Sadiqullah Atal made 64 runs. Rahmanullah Gurbaz was dismissed for 8 runs, Mohammad Nabi for 6, and Azmatullah Omarzai for 4. Karim Janat and captain Rashid Khan remained not out on 8 runs each.
For Pakistan, Faheem Ashraf took 4 wickets while Saim Ayub claimed 1 wicket.
It is worth mentioning that this was the second T20 match between Pakistan and Afghanistan in the tournament. Pakistan had won the first match by 39 runs. Before this defeat, Pakistan remained unbeaten in the event.
