Chicken arrested for crossing busy road; search underway for owner

EDIBURGH – Police in Scotland arrested a chicken after it attempted to cross a busy road.

The bird was desperate to get to the other side of the tarmac in East Marketgait, Dundee, during rush hour but was stopped in its tracks after a motorist reported it to the police, the Emirates247 reported.

Officers rushed to the scene as they believed the chicken was “giving passing motorists cause for concern” and captured it.

They then took it back to the station in Tayside, Scotland, and appealed for its owner before contacting the Scottish Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SSPCA).

The police force said the SSPCA has been contacted and will be attending to take care of the chicken until the owner is traced.

Police are appealing for any information as to why the chicken was crossing the road.
