CALIFORNIA – The Facebook-owned photo-oriented service Instagram on Tuesday introduced a new feature which allows users to follow ‘Hashtags’.
According to the official Instagram blog, “Following a hashtag is just like following a friend. To get started, search for a topic you are interested in or tap on a hashtag from any post. You’ll see relevant hashtags displayed in your search results along with related accounts.
“When you find a hashtag you like, open the hashtag page and tap on the following button. You’ll begin seeing top posts from that hashtag in your feed and some of the latest stories in your stories bar. You can always unfollow a hashtag at any time”.
In addition to that, the user will also get suggestions of hashtags that their friends follow. The list of hashtags followed by the user will also be displayed to friends and other Instagrammers.
As a result, the new feature of the Instagram feed will be an interesting way to stay updated with the latest trends and happenings.
