KARACHI- Sindh High Court (SHC) Chief Justice Ahmed Ali Shaikh on Tuesday ordered officials to submit a progress report on the investigation of the double murder of Hindu traders in Mithi, Sindh.
Daleep Maheshwari, 42, and his brother, Chandar Maheshwari, 40 were shot dead on Jan 5 by two unidentified persons. According to the witnesses and police, the incident happened at the shop owned by the two brothers, the suspects then stole money and fled.
The incident is described as a rare incident in the area and has sparked protests in various towns of Tharparkar and Umerkot.
The Sindh High Court has ordered Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Thar Amir Magsi, the Deputy Inspector General Mirpur Khas, and district and sessions judge Thar to appear before the court on Wednesday. The court has also ordered the respective authorities to submit a report on the incident.
