ISLAMABAD – Prime minister’s Special Assistant on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, Zulfi Bukhari has pledged that he intends to donate all his salary to the Diamer Basha and Mohmand dam fund.
“I will donate all salaries drawn while serving on this position to the PM-CJP Diamer-Bhasha and Mohmand Dams Fund,” he said on Wednesday.
The dam fund was launched in July by the Chief Justice of Pakistan, Mian Saqib Nisar after he was concerned about the water scarcity in the country.
The top judge himself donated Rs1 million to the fund at the onset followed by donations from people in all walks of life. Pakistan Army also handed over a cheque worth Rs1 billion to the fund.

A number of public figures, celebrities, and government officials have also vowed to donate part of their salaries to the fund.
Prime Minister Imran Khan has also appealed the public to support the cause and donate generously to the fund.
Earlier, PM Imran also announced the merger of the prime minister’s and the chief justice’s dams funds.
Last month, the Supreme Court approved a change in the name of the Diamer-Bhasha and Mohmand Dams fund to Supreme Court and Prime Minister’s Fund for Diamer-Bhasha and Mohmand Dams.
