SEOUL – South Korean tech giant Samsung is expected to showcase its Foldable smartphone this month during Samsung’s Developers Conference in San Francisco.
According to SamMobile, the company will launch the phone early next year.
The report further suggests that the phone will be called Galaxy F (probably “F” for “foldable”) and carry a model number SM-F900U – pretty similar to the Galaxy S lineup naming scheme. The pre-production units are tested in the US with software build number F900USQU0ARJ5.
Moreover, the Galaxy F will feature a unique and new version of Android UI developed in partnership with Google.
Samsung finally settled on a combination of 4.6 and 7.3-inch displays. When closed, the larger screen on the inside will become inactive, but users will be able to use the smaller panel on the outside.

Samsung will soon begin testing firmware for the European and Asian variants of this device – SM-F900F and SM-F900N – respectively. This shows that it will be a global device.
