Karachi Blues becomes National T20 champion after nail biting contest with Karachi Whites

MULTAN (Web Desk) - Karachi Blues won the National T20 Cricket Cup after eclipsing Karachi Whites by just 3 runs in a thrilling contest at the Multan Cricket Stadium here on Friday.

Karachi Blues won the toss and elected to bat first. After losing first two wickets for mere 28 runs, there was a partnership of 112 runs for the third wicket between Fawad Alam and Khurram Manzoor. Fawad Alam remained not out on 67 whereas Khurram Manzoor managed to put 70 on the score board. Mohammad Sami scored 20 runs off just 10 balls making a total of 182/3 in 20 overs.

Karachi Whites had an opening wicket partnership of 61 but then spinners Saeed Ajmal, Muhammad Nawaz and Muhammad Asghar picked up wickets at key moments to turn the table. Nawaz picked up 4 wickets, including two in the last over to win the match by 3 runs.



Muhammad Nawaz of Blues was declared Man of the Match for his decisive spell.A huge number of residents flocked to the stadium to catch a glimpse of the final.The event was televised on state run television as well.
