LAHORE – The 70th Independence Day of Pakistan is just around the corner and Pakistanis throughout the country have already begun preparing for the auspicious day.
Pakistanis all across the country flocked markets during the week to buy national flags of different shapes and sizes.
Their display of patriotism did not end with flags. Tee shirts, dresses, balloons, cakes and badges emblazoned with the national flag along with memorabilia bedecked in the country’s trademark green and white were in high-demand as citizens thronged markets, surveying the colorful and quirky offerings.
Every year Independence Day is celebrated with exuberance. This year, in 2016, Independence Day is being celebrated on Sunday.
