ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – The Senate Standing Committee on Defence was informed Friday that as many as 39 Pakistani citizens were killed and another 150 people injured by Indian border security forces during border violations in year 2015 so far.
The Defence Ministry officials said that India remained violating ceasefire treaty at both Line of Control (LoC) and Working Boundary (WB) where 163 and 84 firing incidents took place during current year.
“19 personnel of armed forces of Pakistan were also killed and 15 others seriously wounded in these violations,” Defence Secretary Alam Khatak said.
Responding a query during the briefing, officials told members of committee that at least 132 violations were noted on the Afghanistan border as well. 127 events of firing, 4 border crossing violations and one air space violation was committed on the western border this year, they said.
