SANTIAGO (Web Desk) – It is a common practice for many of us to enjoy dinner late in the evening, but nutritionists have warned that having meal after 8 P.M is likely to cause you to gain weight.
According to research by the University of Chile, those who prefer to eat after 8 at night have wider waists than those who eat before 8 P.M.
The research studied 5500 students and compared their dietary habits and Body Mass Index (BMI).
The results showed that humans consumed energy at a faster rate during the day, with their metabolism (rate of food digestion) slowing down at night.
Researcher Peterasia Lopez suggested that people should take a heavy breakfast and lunch but have a light dinner before 8 P.M to avoid obesity.
