IS claims responsibility of Garland gun attack

WASHINGTON (Staff Report) – Militant group, Islamic State that has a strong hold in parts of Syria and Iraq, has claimed the responsibility of gun attack on the event in Garland Texas on Monday.

Islamic State radio broadcast claimed ‘Two of the soldiers of the caliphate executed an attack on an art exhibit in Garland, Texas, and this exhibit was portraying negative pictures of the Prophet Mohammad’.

As many as three people were killed and another was injured when gunmen attacked an art gallery which was scheduled to exhibit the caricatures of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

The attackers were also killed  in a shootout with the security forces.

The group has been active in the disturbed areas of Syria and Iraq since last year and Abubakar al-Baghdadi is claims to be its head. The group has been involved in several attacks worldwide including assaults in France and Yemen.

US-led coalition forces have been targeting the Islamic State associated militants for many months but the group keeps advancing to other parts of the region.
