PESHAWAR — A tragic terror attack in Central Kurram left seven Frontier Corps (FC) personnel dead and two others injured.
FC patrol team from 154 Wing was conducting operations near a seasonal river when troops came under heavy fire from armed militants attacking from multiple directions.
Those who embraced martyrdom are identities as Naik Jalal, Arif, Wahdat, Imran, Mustafa, Javed, and Sepoy Owais. The injured personnel were swiftly transported to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Thal for medical treatment.
The recent attack highlights a worrying trend, as terrorist activities in Central Kurram have been on the rise in recent months. The area is strategically located near the Khyber and Orakzai districts, which have also seen increased militant activity.
The loss of these brave soldiers has sent shockwaves through the community, and calls for solidarity and support for the families of the victims are growing. On Saturday, a lieutenant colonel and five soldiers were killed in a gun battle with terrorists in North Waziristan’s Spinwam area on October 4-5. Lt. Col. Muhammad Ali Shaukat led the operation, which also resulted in the deaths of six militants.
