ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), quashing the rumours has formally issued party ticket to newly inducted Firdous Ashiq Awan.
Awan, a former leader of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), will contest the upcoming general elections from NA-72. Local media claimed that there was no dispute within the PTI over issuing the ticket to her, adding that delay in the announcement caused controversy.
Despite being awarded a PTI ticket, Awan is still unhappy over not awarding ticket to its panel members – Mian Abid in PP-35 and Tahir Mahmood in PP-38.
Reports said that she has left for Islamabad to meet the party leadership at Bani Gala to resolve the issue.
Speaking to Samaa TV, Awan said she will only contest the elections with her panel, come what may.
She said, “If Usman Dar is able to take part in the elections from his own panel, then I should also be able to do so”.
