This makeup artist recreated the looks of Pakistan s most iconic women as a tribute

With the International Women’s Day being celebrated on the 8th of March, many people agree that celebrating the courageous and strong women of our nation and in our lives should never cease! This idea was exemplified by Lahore based Makeup Artist, Ayesha Babar, who brought to us several phenomenal looks inspired by some of the most iconic women in the history of Pakistan.

Here are the five breath-taking looks she came up with;

1. Fatima Jinnah.

2. Benazir Bhutto.

5. Mahira Khan.

Mahira Khan: a woman who represents so much of what a modern Pakistani woman aspires to be. She’s become Pakistan’s biggest female star and one of our entertainment industry’s global ambassadors. 

Babar captioned the post, “Five women who I look up to – for their courage to fight for what they believe in, for being the voice of a generation, for their bravery in the face of hardship, for being pioneers in their industry and being the epitome of grace and, for flooring everyone with their talent and passion. Here’s to some of #Pakistan ‘s favourite daughters.”

In a statement to Mangobaaz, she further stated that, “As Pakistani women, we are blessed to have so many inspirational women to celebrate. Unfortunately, we don’t talk about these women half as much as we should so on Women’s Day I somehow wanted to show my admiration for them.”

“As a makeup artist, I thought the best way to pay tribute to some of my favorites was to recreate their most iconic looks. I chose these five in particular because I think there is really so much for us to learn from their lives.”
