KARACHI – YouTuber Agha Sheikh Sarwar has reportedly been abducted from his home by agency personnel for his live coverage of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protests at D Chowk in Islamabad.

Imran Khan’s party members rallied in the capital Islamabad to push for the release of the incarcerated leader who remained behind bars for more than a year, facing a plethora of cases including sedition, attempted murder, and inciting rebellion.

Agha Sarwar, an garden supporter of PTI founder. covered protests and now the YouTuber along with PTI activist Umar Malik were taken to unknown place.

PTI lamented lawlessness and alleged that Agha’s father and mother were also assaulted when they resisted. The doors of the house and other furniture were also vandalised by agencies’ perosnnel.

This incident raises concerns about freedom of speech and the safety of media personnel in the country, especially during politically charged events.

Authorities are yet to share details about circumstances of Sarwar’s abduction. The incident is expected to spark further outrage and demands for accountability among civil rights groups and media organizations.
