LAHORE – It is very often that we see politicians fighting like there is no tomorrow. We sometimes discuss while sitting having a meal with family, we sometimes even ignore. However, it does get annoying when they start bringing in social stigmas in their arguments for their own agendas.
The Pakistan link Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI link) government link is being criticised by the opposition link for making tall claims before elections to never go to the International Monetary Fund link.
Imran Khan had even gone as far as to say that he would commit suicide link but would not go to the IMF link. However now, now PTI had to resort to IMF.
Bilawal Bhutto remarked that PM Khan’s deal with the IMF will be illegal as he did not take the Senate on board with his plan.
“The representatives of the people have not approved the deal”. He said that since the issue was not discussed in the National Assembly, it will not be acceptable.
Imran Khan had earlier claimed that he would commit suicide before signing a deal with the IMF, Bilawal insisted.

Seeking this opportunity, two politicians talked about suicide in an amused way. In this day and age when mental health is such a serious issue, can one be this careless with their words?
Marriyum Aurangzeb said to the press that: “Imran Khan had said he wouldn’t go to the IMF… but after the agreement that was finalised yesterday I think it would have been best if Imran Khan had committed suicide.”
Bilawal followed suit.

Suicide should not be the solution if you need to mock someone. It should be the last thing one should say. It can sound extremely insensitive to people who actually deal with this dilemma. Mental health is a big issue across Pakistan since decades.
Instead of speaking up against suicide, people are joking about it. How will it bring any positive change? We wonder. Especially if politicians choose to let people play around with the concept of suicide.
This is not the first time Bilawal has verbally attacked Imran Khan. He did that just recently when Imran called him a ‘sahiba’.
Bilawal and the PM clearly do not have any liking for one another. But using the word suicide so carelessly is an issue at hand.
