LAHORE – Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif has said our enemies cannot dare cast an evil eye on Pakistan as Pak-Army is fully prepared to respond to any challenge.
Addressing the soldiers in Lahore on Monday, the COAS thanked all ranks of the Army and Rangers for their services under his command. Gen Sharif, who is due to retire this month, said it was a matter of great pride for him to have commanded the finest army in the world.
“Operation Zarb-e-Azb has resulted into a more secure and stable Pakistan with a sense of greater hope and direction,” an ISPR statement quoted Gen Sharif as saying.
The COAS detailed that the accomplishment of peace and stability in the country was no ordinary task. He said that it was sacrifices and joint national resolve of the nation that helped in offsetting all odds against our country.
‘Pakistani people were most resilient and brave nation in the world’ Gen Raheel said.
He urged the troops to follow the norms of their rich military tradition with even greater vigour and continue serving their people with utmost dedication, resilience and greater sense of sacrifice.
Meanwhile, DG ISPR Asim Bajwa in a tweet confirmed that Gen Raheel has kicked off his farewell visits, rubbishing rumours regarding extension in tenure of military chief.
