Sirbaz Khan Profile 

Sirbaz Khan is one of the leading mountaineer who hoisted Pakistani flag at the highest level with national pride and prestige. He has summited 13 of the eight thousands World’s 14 Highest peaks and still feels ambitious to achieve impossible in mountaineering. 

Early life and Age

Sirbaz Khan belongs to Aliabad, Hunza Valley. He is now 35 years old. 

Association with AKYSB Hunza

Sirbaz Khan has been attached with Aga Khan Youth and Sports Board (AKYSB) Hunza for last 10 Years. He serves here as a master trainer for climbing and mountaineering.

Sirbaz Khan’s Inspiration 

Sirbaz Khan feels eternally associated and attached with Past proud mountaineers Nazir Sabir and Ashraf Aman who also proved their mettle nationally and globally. He strongly opines as :

“My inspiration came from Nazir Sabir (the first Pakistani to conquer Mount Everest) and Ashraf Aman (the first Pakistani to conquer K2).”

  • Sirbaz Khan Career has been entitled with successes and glories since his 2016 starting as professional mountaineer. 
  • In October 2017, Sirbaz Khan climbed the 8,126-metre (26,660 ft) tall Nanga Parbat — the ninth-tallest mountain in the world.
  • In July 2018, Sirbaz Khan climbed the 8,611-metre (28,251 ft) tall K2 — the second-tallest mountain in the world.
  • In May 2019, Sirbaz Khan became the first Pakistani to successfully summit the 8,516-metre (27,940-foot) tall Mount Lhotse – the world’s 4th highest mountain – without using supplementary oxygen.
  • In July 2019, Sirbaz Khan climbed the summit of the 8,047-metre (26,401 ft) Broad Peak mountain in Pakistan, without using supplementary oxygen.
  • In September 2019, Sirbaz Khan became the first Pakistani to scale Manaslu, the world’s 8th highest peak, in Nepal.
  • In April 2021, Sirbaz Khan and Abdul Joshi were the first Pakistanis to scale Annapurna, the 10th highest mountain in the world.

  • On 2nd October 2023, Sirbaz Khan has successfully scaled mount Cho Oyu in Tibet sixth-highest mountain in the world at 8,188 metres.
  • In October 2023, Khan climbed the 8,188 metres (26,863 feet) Cho Oyu peak in over 28 hours using a marathon alpine-style climb, and without supplementary oxygen, said Alpine Club of Pakistan, the country’s official mountaineering organization, in a statement.

Sirbaz Khan’s set Targets 

Sirbaz Khan has only left Shishapangma mountain to accomplish his dream of becoming the first Pakistani to climb all 14 peaks above 8,000-metre in the world. Historically, Shishaspangma is the 14th-highest mountain in the world, at 8,027 metres (26,335 feet) above sea level.

Sirbaz Khan’s Ambition  

Sirbaz Khan has often mentioned on social media that he wants to raise the Pakistani flag above the death zone and wants his country’s mountaineering heroes to be recognized worldwide. He dedicates his mission to his mentor Mohammad Ali Sadpara.

Sirbaz Khan and Muhammad Ali Sadpara joint Ventures 

Sirbaz Khan had been very blessed to work in many joint ventures with his Mentor Muhammad Ali Sadpara. He had the honor of accompanying the late Muhammad Ali Sadpara on four of his 8,000 metre summits and their last expedition together was from Nepal to Manaslu.
