Pakistani-Canadian film actress Armeena Khan has delved into the world of filmmaking as she is all set to produce her first short film ‘Snapshot’.
Earlier, she made headlines as she was a part of several international projects such as her British sci-fi short film, The Achilles Protocol. After making a name for herself in the acting world, she is now venturing into short film production.
Snapshot is a collaborative work between Turkey and Pakistan stars. Directed/penned by Sharaz Ali, it stars Mert Kilic and Ayhan Isik and the music composer Yildiray Gurgen who are from Turkey.
Set in the magnificent city of Istanbul, it narrates a story of a Canadian girl (Armeena) who gets stuck in the country because of the Covid-19 lockdown.
“The storyline emphasises platonic relationships and brings to the fore the importance of friendship,” reads the official press release.
During the conversation, Armeena tells Icon why she started with a short film, and not a full-length feature or television series. “As a new filmmaker, I was totally green and did not wish to make expensive mistakes,” Armeena explains.
Armeena and Sharaz have previously worked together in two films, Writhe and The Stranger Within Me. Both made it to Cannes Film Festival together in 2013 and 2014.
