Ten jailed for life in Malala attack case

SWAT (Staff Report) – An anti terrorism court in Swat has given life imprisonment to ten men in the case related to the 2012 attack on child activist Malala Yousafzai.

During Thursday’s hearing, the anti terrorism court sentenced Zafar Iqbal, Irfan, Izhar, Shoukat, Israr, Hazrat Bilal, Ikramullah, Zafar Ali, Suleman and Adnan to jail for life.

The Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) had claimed the attack on Malala and two other girls in October 2012 as she was returning from her school in the Mingora town of Swat valley.

She survived after being airlifted to Britain for treatment and recovered from her life-threatening wounds.
