Lithuanian man finds himself lone passenger on Italy-bound Boeing 737

MILAN – A Lithuanian man heading to Italy got a surprise, pleasant or shocking, when he boarded a plane with him being the only passenger.

Skirmantas Strimaitis was the lone passenger of Boeing 737-800 who was flying from capital Vilnius to the northern Italian city of Bergamo for a skiing holiday.

As many as 188 people can travel through the plane, however, besides Strimaitis, the only others onboard were two pilots and five crew members.

The Novaturas travel agency said it had chartered the plane to fly a group home from Italy, and to avoid flying empty, one-way tickets were sold and only one person reserved a seat.

Strimaitis described the experience as “a once in the lifetime”. The journey lasted for more than two hours.
