Pakistanis demand for AmazonInPakistan

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan has seen a surge in Amazon-related courses and seminars organised all over the country and online by different speakers, investors and overseas Pakistanis who have had the chance to work with Jeff Bezos-owned enterprise.

Even though there are a lot of Pakistanis and Pakistani products listed on Amazon but they are listed from other countries due to the lack of the company’s presence in the South Asian Country.

Pakistani youth has shown a keen interest in Amazon with many learning and working on the platforms through external sources because it is not directly available in Pakistan.

Earlier today, Pakistanis started to urge the company to start operating in Pakistan and #AmazonInPakistan started to trend on Twitter.

However, there is no official reply from the company yet.

The US e-commerce giant currently provides its services in 16 countries around the world including India where the company has also launched a food delivery business called Amazon Food.

The Pakistani Government who boasts of digitisation is also developing an international payment gateway that will be integrated with other online payment platforms like PayPal, aimed at facilitating incoming payments to boost exports and assist freelancers.
