Veteran Pakistani actor Abid Kashmiri has passed away at the age of 74 after a brief illness, his family confirmed on Wednesday. The legendary actor, known for his impeccable comedic timing and larger-than-life performances, had been unwell for some time, according to his daughter.

Born on May 4, 1950, in Lahore, Abid Kashmiri had a prolific career in Pakistan’s entertainment industry, featuring in numerous television dramas, stage plays, and films. He captivated audiences with his natural comedic flair, earning a permanent place in the hearts of his fans.

In recognition of his remarkable talent, he was awarded the prestigious Nigar Award for Best Comedian in 1988 for his performance in the film Bazaar-e-Husn. Kashmiri leaves behind two sons and two daughters, as well as a legacy cherished by millions across the country.
