LAHORE – A security guard accused of allegedly assaulting a student from a private college in the Gulberg area has been arrested.
According to the spokesperson for DIG Operations, the unfortunate incident of alleged assault by a security guard at a private college came to light after the news went viral, prompting the police to take immediate action.
The spokesperson stated that as soon as the incident was reported, DIG Operations Faisal Kamran formed a special team to arrest the suspect, who had gone into hiding immediately after the incident.
DIG Operations involved modern technology experts with the relevant police, and the suspect was apprehended from another city outside of Lahore.
The spokesperson further mentioned that after multiple raids utilizing all available resources, the suspect was captured, and the investigation is ongoing.
The spokesperson added that efforts to locate the victim and her family, as well as legal proceedings, are underway.
DIG Operations Faisal Kamran stated that they will not rest until the heinous criminals involved in such assaults are caught, and that they are adhering to the Punjab government’s zero-tolerance policy regarding such tragic incidents.
