ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – The Pakistan Meteorological Department has predicted more rainfall in Kashmir, Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as well as the Potohar region and Islamabad during Eid holidays.
On Thursday, Jang, Gujranwala, Chichawatni and Faisalabad all received rain. A Met office spokesperson told media that rain/thunderstorm, and isolated heavy falls in certain areas, and strong winds were expected in parts of Punjab, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa , FATA and Kashmir between Wednesday and Friday.
“There is high risk of flash flooding in hilly areas,” the official added.
He said tourist destinations such as Murree, the nearby Galliat, Upper KP, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir were likely to receive heavy rains during Eid days that could trigger landslides in the vulnerable areas.
Tourists have been advised to remain abreast of weather updates to avoid any untoward situation.
