Women are all about saying sorry when they’ve actually done something wrong (which is hardly, in our opinion). However, recent studies have suggested that 37 percent women are more likely to apologize than men-and often for totally random reasons-in which apology wouldn’t even be needed.
We want women to break this trend, which is why we have put forth 9 times women should not apologize:
For not looking like a supermodel ALL the time:
Yeah okay, so you wore sweats and a loose shirt to work. Deal with it, men at the workplace. Some days, women will not be manicured and pedicured like perfect dolls. Yeah, they work, and live a real life. Not some cover page supermodel who goes to a salon first thing in the morning.
For taking holidays:
You are owed sick days, and raises, and all that. Do not apologize for taking advantage of your job’s most ‘basic benefits’.
For not responding to someone immediately:
If you ignore someone for days on end, that’s rude. However, it’s okay to see a text or an email and reply within your own time and space. You need not rush the responses, and you have a life outside your phone too.
For trying to get a waiter’s attention:
Don’t be sorry for trying to get their attention, they should be there catering to your needs in the first place!
For ordering Diet Coke:
Own the diet coke, woman. You can’t always order the most expensive drink on the menu, unless you’re out on a date night or something. Drink what you love, have the freedom.
For having an emotional reaction to something:
This is perhaps one of the most important ones. Ladies, don’t apologize for how you feel. You have got to learn that the way you feel has to do with the way you are. You definitely don’t have to apologize for crying at the cinemas. It’s an emotional film, so what?
For getting bumped into:
If someone bumps into you, he’s the one with the eyesight problem. Don’t be sorry for bumping into a bumper. He bumped into you.
For reminding someone to do something they said they would do:
Don’t be sorry for giving reminders. If someone has borrowed something and has forgotten to give it back to you, remind them.
For having an opinion of your own:
Yeah, it’s okay to think that Manchester United is better than Arsenal. Don’t apologize for having an opinion, and definitely NEVER apologize for having strong belief in something. It’s your mind, you own it, so OWN IT.
