The news of Audioslave and Soundgarden’s singer Chris Cornell’s death shocked everyone!
The last gig he performed was at the Fox Theatre, Detroit a night before his death.
Reportedly, he was performing the band’s track, ‘Slaves & Bulldozers’, mixed in with Led Zeppelin’s version of ‘In My Time of Dying’. The song features lyrics such as: “In my time of dying, want nobody to mourn/All I want for you to do is take my body home.”
The gospel song, first released in 1927 by Blind Willie Johnson, was also covered by Bob Dylan.
It’s not the first time Soundgarden have mixed the two songs during a live performance, but the fact that it was delivered such a short time before Chris’ death is poignant

Notable singers have also expressed mourning and have paid tribute to Chris, who was just 52 years old.
