MUMBAI – Just as his movie ‘Padmavati’ has landed in hot waters of controversy with Rajput Karni Sena, it has been observed that actor Ranveer Singh has been off his otherwise very active social media lately.
In an interview, Ranveer revealed the reason behind staying low-key was partially due to the film: “It’s a difficult situation for me also to be in also because anything I say or write on Twitter – despite it not having anything to do with the situation – may get misconstrued and is further distorted. It could unintentionally harm sentiments because who knows what is going to be picked up that someone might take offense to. I feel audiences should now see Alauddin Khilji on screen only.”
Ranveer quoted he is “200 percent” with the film and Mr. Bhansali.
It is to be noted that Mr. Bhansali and Deepika Padukone have received life threats and bounties on their heads from the extremist elements.

Ranveer further said in support of Sanjay Bhansali, “One shouldn’t doubt Sanjay sir; he is a magnificent film-maker and has tremendous respect for Indian culture and an enormous respect for Indian heritage and he will never intentionally hurt sentiments or do anything wrong. He is a good man with good intentions.”
