Lahore: PFA confiscates 2,400kg cooking oil made with animal offals, fats

LAHORE – The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) on Saturday confiscated a huge cache of contaminated cooking oil extracted from animal fats and offals from Lahore.

PFA Additional Director General Rafiya Haider informed media that a team of the PFA raided a factory, which was using unhealthy elements in production of the cooking oil, in Mozang.

He added that the officials have confiscated around 2400kgs of animal fats and offals and tins of different brands during the raid.

The authorities of PFA said that the factory was working secretly in the densely populated area. They added that the seized oil hazardous for humans but it could be used for making soaps and bio-diesel.
