Interior Minister takes notice of issuance of immigration to blacklisted US citizen

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan has taken notice of issuance of immigration to a blacklisted American citizen Mathew.

He directed the concerned authorities to constitute an inquiry committee headed by Additional Secretary of the Ministry and sought report within 24 hours.

He likewise directed to establish a joint probe team to look into the matter consisting officers of FIA, IB and ISI.  SP Investigation Captain retired Ilyas will lead the squad.

Two FIA personnel deputed on the immigration desk at Benazir Bhutto International Airport Islamabad have been halted and an Assistant Director and other staff suspended.

The Interior Minister also directed to take action against officials of Pakistani consulate in Hosten, who issued visas to the American citizen.

The Minister also sought the report from Deputy Director and immigration Director concerned of FIA.

The American citizen "Mathew" was held in the past for spying the nuclear installations and deported from the nation with the accusation of violation of laws and suspicious activities.
