Internet speed slows down across Pakistan

LAHORE – Internet speed in most of the areas of Pakistan has reportedly slowed down or suspended leaving users, especially those are using services of Pakistan Telecommunication Limited (PTCL), in mental agony.

Scores of PTCL users on Saturday took to Twitter, a social networking site, complaining about the breakdown of internet services. They are also enraged over PTCL help line not attending calls.

According to a regretting message from PTCL on its website,  the internet speed throughout Pakistan has been affected due to some fault in the submarine cable system, IMEWE, under the sea near Saudi Arabia.

It added that the technical team of International Submarine Cable Consortium was working on another international cable system SEA-ME-WE 4 is already under repair.

The repair work has already started by the international consortium to resolve the situation as soon as possible.
