LAHORE (Web Desk) - The Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will depart for Turkey on tomorrow (Saturday) on a day-long private trip amid the opposition’s protest over the Panama Papers issue, local media reported Friday.

"The premier is said to be travelling to Turkey to seek advice from President Recep Erdogan,” Tribune reported while quoting sources.

According to the paper's report, PM Nawaz has long admired Erdogan’s tactics in dealing with his country’s dominating army and wants to implement similar strategies on his home soil.

The development comes after Army chief General Raheel Sharif was quoted as asking the premier to resolve the Panama Papers issue.

"Army chief General Raheel Sharif told the prime minister that the Panama leaks scandal was affecting national security and creating distraction from more pressing issues faced by the country. Therefore, he advised the premier to resolve the issue at the earliest", the report added.

PM Nawaz is expected to return home on Sunday and will address the House on Monday. On the other hand, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf Chairman Imran Khan will leave for London again, a month after his recent visit.

PTI’s London President Barrister Waheed-ur-Rehman said that Imran Khan will be reaching London on Friday on a three-day visit to attend two fundraisers in aid of Namal College and to spend time with his sons.
