SHIKARPUR: Police foiled attempts of two child marriages in Shikarpur and registered cases against the parents.
Following the information of marriages of an eight-year-old boy, Allah Dino with a twelve-year-old girl Aleema and two-year-old boy Abdullah with a four-month-old toddler Dua under watta satta tradition, the police conducted a raid at a home in suburb of Shikarpur.
The Nikahkhuwaan and attendants of wedding fled the scene after the raid; however, the police arrested parents of the children.
According to the law, there is minimum age limit of 16 years for the marriage of a girl.
