499 Pakistanis imprisoned in Iraq, NA told

ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – As many as 499 Pakistanis have been imprisoned in Iraq for committing different crimes, told foreign ministry to a NA session on Friday.

Responding to questions in Question Hour, representative of foreign ministry informed the lower house of parliament that most of the people were detained for their extended stay in Iraq despite expiry of their travel documents.

The ministry also revealed that 38 Pakistanis were executed in Saudi Arabia in last three years, for committing grave crimes.

Embassies in all countries continuously share information about Pakistani citizens with foreign governments and provide required services to those being charged for any crime, the ministry explained.
