Scandals and Mufti Abdul Qavi seem to go hand in hand and he’s not only in the news again but also going viral on social media, but this time he can’t hold his head high… literally.
Controversial Tiktoker Hareem Shah posted a very short video in which a woman in a red dress can be seen entering a room and slapping the cleric across the face. The video ends there.

Hareem Shah explained in a TV interview that she was the one making the video and the woman was her cousin. She said her cousin was furious over the mufti for making indecent comments about her. Shah vowed to expose the infamous cleric if he does not behave. She said Abdul Qavi frequently used loose language with her and she had had enough.
The disgraced Abdul Qavi on the other hand claims he has no idea why he was assaulted.
Public reaction to the video was… interesting to say the least. Most of the people appreciated Shah and her cousin for calling out the powerful man and humiliating him in public. Many people criticised him for dishonouring his position as a man of God.

One of the people interviewed said one slap was not enough and that the mufti should have been slapped more times. He said the punishment was befitting for such a man.
