PM Nawaz to take up issue of Indian inference in meeting with Obama
WASHINGTON (Staff Report) - Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is likely to take up the issue of Indian interference in Balochistan, FATA and Karachi is a meeting with United States President Barack Obama, that is scheduled to take place on Thursday (Today).

The prime minister will also urge the US resident to press the Indian government to return to table talks with Pakistan giving up the rigid stance.

Both leaders will also discuss the newly prevailing situation in Afghanistan after the US announcement to prolong the stay of forces in war torn country. They are expected to reach an understanding to revive the stalled talks between Taliban and Afghanistan.

A spokesman for the White House said that the Nawaz Sharif tour will give an opportunity to strengthen relations between both countries.

He said that trade, investment, nuclear solidarity and other issues will be discussed during the Nawaz-Obama meeting.

Pak-Afghan Desk Spokeswoman Helena White said that the issue of tension between Pakistan and India would also be discussed.

PM Sharif arrived in the US on a four-day official visit on Tuesday and was received by the officials of US State Department and Pakistan embassy at the Andrews Air Force Base.

Pakistan’s ambassador to the US Jalil Abbas Jilani and the country’s envoy to the United Nations Maliha Lodhi welcomed the premier.

Former United States ambassador to Pakistan and current special envoy to Pakistan and Afghanistan, Richard Olson was also present on the occasion.

Rupee exchange rate to US Dollar, Euro, Pound, Dirham, and Riyal - 18 April 2024

Pakistani currency continues to gain against US Dollar and other currencies on April 18, 2024. US dollar was being quoted at 277.2 for buying and 280.3 for selling.

Euro comes down to 293 for buying and 296 for selling while British Pound stands at 342.25 for buying, and 345.65 for selling.

UAE Dirham AED was at 75.25 and Saudi Riyal's new rates was at 73.30.
