This noble gesture of PIA for Emirates deceased passenger is winning millions of hearts

LAHORE – Losing a loved one is hard on the family. Recently a Pakistani woman, who had gone to perform Umrah, died. The deceased had a return flight booked from Emirates airline (MEDINA-DUBAI-SIALKOT).

However, the airline was charging her husband a hefty amount to transport the body.

Upon contacting the PIA ticket office for the transport of the body, PIA showed a noble gesture by booking the cargo and giving the husband a free of cost (FOC) ticket.

According to a social media user, the details of the incident were given in the post below.

“According to accompanying husband, pax died at Dubai airport during transit. Husband came later-on to PIA Ticket office for transportation of dead body which PIA does without any charge. He told that Emirates Airline was charging for the body as Cargo,” said the post.

“PIA booked the body on PK204/25DEC DXB-LHE and gave the husband FOC (free of cost) ticket.

This is Pakistan’s National Flag Carrier. Thank you PIA for this beautiful gesture. Submitted by Saqib Saleem,” the post concluded.

Thank you, PIA, for returning a family’s loved one to them so that she may rest in peace.
