FO summons Afghan ambassador, lodges protest over BKU attack

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) –Foreign office has summoned Afghan Charge d’Affaires Syed Abdul Nasir Yousafi to record Pakistan’s protest against the use of Afghan soil by Bacha Khan University attackers.

According to the statement issued by the Foreign Office on Tuesday, Abdul Nasir Yousafi was told that investigations have revealed that handlers of this terrorist act were operating from Afghan territory and used Afghan telecommunication network for planning and executing this attack, adding that the relevant details have already been shared with Afghanistan.

The Afghan government was urged to take action against the perpetrators of the act of terrorism, and to extend cooperation to Pakistani authorities to bring them to justice, the statement added.

At least four gunmen had stormed Bacha Khan University in Charsadda on January 20, 2016, leaving at least 21 people dead, most of them were students.
