PESHAWAR – Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar on Saturday suspended heart operations as the surgery machines are not working properly for a long time.
The doctors, in a letter, to the hospital administration, have repeatedly requested for funds to repair the machines, however, no positive response has been received so far, an official of the hospital told Geo TV.
The hospital administration in reply to the doctors said keeping in mind the health of the patients, no surgeries will be conducted since the machines were not functioning.
Asim Khan, spokesperson of the hospital while speaking to the TV said, the reason they have stopped conducting operations is to ensure the safety of the patients.
“We are taking notice of this issue and will provide the necessary equipment’ as soon as possible”, Khan added.
On the other hand, patients already admitted to the hospital’s cardiac ward are at loose ends. They don’t know what to do about their treatment.
