FIA arrests own deputy director over bogus degree

ISLAMABAD – Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Tuesday arrested one of its officials after his educational degrees were proved bogus.

According to reports, FIA has registered a case against Deputy Director Cyber Crime Wing Balochistan, Nauman Ashraf Bodla for deceiving the department.

Bodla presented a certificate of Newports Institute of Communications and Economics (NICE), but HEC did not verify the degree as this university was not included in any chartered foreign universities or Higher Education Commission (HEC) recognized universities.

Therefore, FIA registered a case against him under section 109, 34, 420, 468-P, PPC (2) 19475 and later arrested him. Bodla was performing duties in Multan.
