LAHORE – Depression and mental health are among the most talked topics in today’s world. People share their problems, sufferings, and anxieties with others through social media forums.
For people dealing with psychological conditions, every day is a struggle, every day is the day these people will waste time and energy to prove their worth to themselves and others.
In the past, many celebrities have also revealed their battles with mental stress and depression and people fully show their support and love to them through consoling posts.
The prominent personalities include Momina Musteshan, Sahifa Jabbar, Mohsin Abbas Jafferi and Juggan Kazmi. Another well-known personality from the industry, Shaan Shahid, shared his two cents on depression in actors on his social media handles.
Here is the post:
Shaan started expressing his thoughts by putting a disclaimer about how his post is going to be him walking on a thin line. According to him, actors tend to immerse themselves into their characters so much that when they are unable to get out of them at the right time, depression becomes a by-product of it.
Yes, it helps them attain that level of mastery where this immersion in sadness and emotions translates into well-developed and well-delivered characters, but the practice has its repercussions too.
People give a mixed response to Shaan’s latest post, but most seemed to agree.
Sometimes, it is hard for the same actors to revert out of their characters because opting a role in their system becomes an addiction which is hard to fight. He further mentioned that the industry is not all stardust and glamour and it is important to weigh the pros and cons of it before entering it.
Shaan’s post is the aftermath of Mohsin Abbas Haider’s revelation of fighting depression and it was then that his fans and followers sent immense love and support to the Na Maloom Afraad through sharing their own life struggles and heartwarming messages to the star.

To us, Shaan’s perspective for depression seems unconventional and something very easy to cope with.
